Updated: 13-Feb-2012

74 islands floating like jewels in the tropical waters of the Coral Sea...

The Whitsundays are located in Central Queensland, approx 8 hours drive south from Cairns and 12 hours drive north from Brisbane.

The Whitsunday Region is one of those rare places upon which Nature has lavished every favour.  As well as the world-famous island archipelago, you'll see rainforests, waterfalls, bays, beaches and views which dazzle you at every turn.

The resort town of Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Whitsunday Island Group, situated in the heart of Queensland's Great Barrier Reef featuring 74 islands dotted in turquoise blue waters.

There are many ways to enjoy the natural wonders of the Whitsundays. Sail, snorkel, dive, kayak, cruise or simply kick back on a sun lounge and gaze in awe at the beauty of the surrounding islands.

Experiencing this aquatic playground is what it's all about. The options are endless, young or old, budget or luxury, romance or family friendly we can find the perfect holiday to suit you.

Out of 74 islands, only five are home to resorts:  Daydream, Hamilton, Hayman, Hook, and Long Islands.  Each is different, with their own unique styles and attractions.

Hamilton Island is serviced by its own airport and is a major entry point to the Whitsundays connecting flights from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns.

Inter-island connections are also available through Cruise Whitsundays and Fantasea Cruises linking the Whitsunday Coast Airport, Shute Harbour, Hamilton, Daydream and Long Islands.

The Whitsundays is an ideal year round escape enjoying a tropical climate of hot summers, warm winters and bright spring and autumn days.

Club Med was operating Lindeman Island however this resort is now closed.  The South Molle Resort and Brampton Island Resort is also presently closed.

We wish you a very memorable, and enjoyable tropical holiday!
